DanceTake is an iPhone app for automatic dance recording and side-by-side practice. It is designed to work locally: there are no user accounts, ads, behavioural analytics, or cross-app tracking.
Camera, microphone, and Photos
Camera access is used for preview, framing guidance, and recording. Microphone access is used only when room sound is enabled. Photos access is used when you choose teaching media or save a finished video. DanceTake does not use these permissions in the background.
On-device analysis
Framing and pose detection run on the device. Beat analysis of selected media also runs locally. Camera analysis frames and raw pose results are not uploaded to a developer server.
Imported media and takes
Selected media may be copied into the app’s local container so a practice record remains usable. Takes, thumbnails, beat data, and edits are stored locally. Deleting a record or using the storage controls removes the relevant local copies. Deleting the app removes its local data; offloading the app may retain documents and data. Copies previously saved to Photos or shared elsewhere are separate.
AirPlay
AirPlay and screen-mirroring discovery, connection, and transport are provided by Apple system services. DanceTake does not create a cloud copy of the streamed teaching video or camera view.
App Store transaction status
DanceTake may use Apple StoreKit AppTransaction to verify whether the app was obtained through the App Store and to preserve eligibility intended for early supporters. The developer does not receive complete payment details or an Apple ID.
