Everyday listening

For audio that is useful, but tiring.

Softer Audio is intended for listening comfort—not mastering, restoration, or medical treatment.

01

Long meetings

Reduce the edge of bright microphones and sharp remote voices during extended calls.

02

Speech and video

Make podcasts, lectures, and streaming video easier to listen to without editing the source.

03

Sensitive playback

Apply a consistent amount of softening only to the apps that need it.

A quieter listening workflow

Turn it on. Set the strength. Keep listening.

Softer Audio lives in the menu bar and stays out of the way until you want to compare or adjust the result.

01

Choose the scope

Process all system audio or remember a selection of running apps.

02

Set the strength

Use a preset or move continuously from subtle softening to an intentionally obvious extreme.

03

Compare instantly

Hold Compare Original to bypass processing, then release to return to the softened sound.

Softer Audio original and processed spectrum feedback

Visible feedback

See where the sound is changing.

The live spectrum compares original peaks with processed output. Reduction indicators show which frequency bands are being controlled, while status text distinguishes harshness, sibilance, and peak activity.

Original vs processed

Compare the same frequency bands in one view.

Reduction by band

See where stronger attenuation is active.

Momentary bypass

Use your ears without losing the current settings.

Processing scope

Apply it where you want it.

Select several apps and Softer Audio remembers the choice. If a selected app is silent or closed, processing stays enabled and waits for it to return.
